Troop Library

Merit Badge pamphlets are a key source of information.   Some Merit Badge pamphlets can  be found in our Troop Library, which continues to grow.  Merit Badge pamphlets may also be found at the Mt. Prospect Public Library, or may be purchased at the Scout Shop.

The Merit Badge pamphlets not only list the requirements for a particular  badge,  but also provide educational information that will help you complete the requirements.

Check with the Troop Librarian for current titles.  While the pamphlets  are an excellent resource, the requirements for a particular badge may change. It’s a good idea to  make sure you are following the current requirements by checking the publication date or cross-referencing the pamphlet with  meritbadge.com. You can also check with a Merit Badge counselor.

Merit Badge Clinics

Periodically, local  Northwest Suburban Council districts offer  Merit Badge Clinics where you can bring your completed requirements to a counselor for review and approval.  Often, there are several Counselors in a variety of subject areas available.  Check the Northwest Suburban Council website for upcoming clinics.  We will do our best to keep you informed of upcoming Merit Badge Clinics in the area.

Merit Badge Counselor Listing

You don’t need to wait for a Merit Badge Clinic to get your work approved— you can make an appointment with a Merit Badge Counselor at any time.  Be sure to bring a buddy or parent with you when you visit.  For the names and addresses of area Merit Badge Counselors,  contact the Advancement Chair of our troop.
